How It Works
Working Principle of Discharge Scrapers
Understanding the precise role scrapers play in the continuous vacuum ceramic filtration cycle.
-
1
Slurry Immersion & Vacuum Suction
The ceramic disc rotates through the slurry trough. Vacuum pressure draws liquid through the microporous alumina membrane, forming a filter cake on the disc surface as moisture is extracted.
-
2
Dewatering & Cake Formation
As the disc continues rotating through the drying zone, vacuum dewatering reduces cake moisture content to the target level, producing a firm, uniform filter cake ready for discharge.
-
3
Scraper Discharge -- The Critical Step
The disc rotates to the discharge position where the scraper blade engages the ceramic plate surface. The precisely angled blade edge shears the dried filter cake cleanly from the membrane, releasing it into the discharge hopper for conveying -- completing one full filtration cycle.
Key requirement: The scraper blade must maintain consistent contact pressure across the entire disc surface without damaging the ceramic membrane -- demanding precise material selection and dimensional accuracy.
-
4
Backwash & Cycle Restart
After discharge, the ceramic membrane undergoes backwash to clear residual particles from the pores, restoring filtration capacity before the next immersion cycle begins.
Continuous Operation Design
Our scrapers are engineered for 24/7 continuous operation in harsh mining environments, maintaining consistent discharge efficiency across thousands of operating hours.
Product Range
Two Material Solutions for Every Application
We supply both ceramic and polyurethane (PU) scrapers, each optimised for specific operating conditions, slurry types and filter machine configurations.
Ceramic Scrapers
High-hardness alumina ceramic blade scrapers
Manufactured from high-purity alumina ceramic, these scrapers deliver exceptional hardness and wear resistance. The ceramic blade maintains a consistent sharp edge over extended service periods, ensuring clean cake release with minimal ceramic membrane contact damage.
- Extreme hardness: Resists abrasion from high-silica and iron ore slurries
- Dimensional stability: Maintains precise blade geometry under thermal cycling
- Chemical resistance: Unaffected by acidic or alkaline slurry environments
- Long service life: Significantly lower replacement frequency vs. rubber or steel
- Best for: Iron ore, copper, gold, nickel -- high-throughput continuous operations
Polyurethane (PU) Scrapers
Flexible high-resilience polyurethane blade scrapers
Cast from premium polyurethane elastomer, PU scrapers combine flexibility with outstanding abrasion resistance. The elastic blade conforms to minor surface variations on the ceramic disc, ensuring full-width contact and complete cake discharge without risk of membrane chipping.
- Flexible conformance: Self-adjusts to disc surface irregularities for uniform contact
- Membrane protection: Lower contact hardness reduces risk of ceramic disc damage
- Impact absorption: Elastic material dampens shock loads during discharge
- Easy installation: Lightweight and fast to replace, reducing maintenance downtime
- Best for: Lithium, lead-zinc, fine particle slurries -- disc-sensitive applications

Product Advantages
Engineered for reliable discharge, cycle after cycle.
Every scraper we produce is precision-manufactured to match the exact disc geometry of your filter machine, ensuring complete cake removal and protecting your ceramic membrane investment.
OEM-Grade Dimensional Accuracy
Manufactured to match original equipment tolerances for Roxia, CEC, Metso and other major brands. Direct drop-in replacement with no field modification required.
Complete Cake Discharge
Optimised blade angle and edge geometry ensure thorough filter cake removal across the full disc width, preventing cake build-up that reduces filtration efficiency.
Membrane Protection Design
Blade contact pressure and material hardness are carefully matched to clean the disc surface without scratching or chipping the alumina ceramic membrane -- protecting your highest-value component.
Extended Service Intervals
Premium material selection and precise manufacturing deliver significantly longer service life compared to standard rubber or mild steel scrapers, reducing maintenance frequency and total cost of ownership.
Multi-Brand Compatibility
Stocked configurations for Roxia, CEC and Metso disc filter systems. Custom dimensions available from drawings or sample parts for any other brand or non-standard machine.
Custom Engineering Support
Our engineering team provides material selection guidance, blade angle optimisation and mounting configuration support to ensure optimal discharge performance for your specific slurry and operating conditions.
